Comparison

Over the past few years there has been many post-apocalyptic films released however it is not a very popular genre. A theory for this is the films tend to not match what audiences currently want as people want to escape from the real world away from all the death and chaos, so why would people want to watch more of it on screen?

The genre seems fluctuate its popularity but then the themes for example zombies becomes overused and bores the audience. However post-apocalyptic films are still being made and there was an increase after 9/11 this shows that us as humans still have a desire to question our existence and the "what if" feeling a dystopian Earth gives us.

28 Days later is a British film whilst other films like The Book of Eli and I am Legend are Hollywood films. They bigger budgets and from the examples that i  have researched have established actors that create star power. In mainstream media there are a lot more Hollywood films then British films
