Media Homework
This picture is set in a post apocalyptic world. The aim of the picture was to show a man looking on whilst a woman is next to another woman potentially robbing or killing her. This would show the lack of humanity that exists within the post apocalyptic world because people have lost their morals. Due to the fact the man looks on, it could imply he is too scared as to the consequences of getting involved and trying to help the woman in grey. Also, looking on could show how he has seen this sort of behaviour before and is immune to seeing it.
An additional theory to the picture is that the woman in black is helping the woman in grey. perhaps the woman in grey is injured and needs help. This would suggest the man is looking on because he knows there is no hope for her. He could also be looking on because he has already lost his morals and doesn't want to help.
This picture has different interpretations which is one thing I appreciate about it.
Setting the picture in night time meant we could easily go out and take the picture without worrying about too many people being out. This would have potentially made the picture harder to take. In addition, the night time setting also adds effect to the picture because night time can link to danger. It implies that evil is more prominent in the dark and that is when the weak are most vulnerable.
To improve the picture, we could have used a tri pod. We couldn't, however, access one. a tripod would have made the picture easier and quicker to take whilst also proving stability for the camera and improving the picture it's self. We could of also applied the rule of thirds too the shot, which would make it more credible and fill up the empty space.
